2019/11/15_La Genesis
Tried to fully follow this DJ note I took to make a night. It turned out that people did enjoy the music. There’s really nothing wrong being conservative sometimes, or all times, on tango music. *Reason I played San Souci at the first tanda was because of the class before milonga was taught in dramatic, new recording, walking-paced music. I aim for the roomful of dancers to practice on what they just learnt 3 minutes ago. 2019/11/03_High Tea Milonga_Hong Kong
This was my second gig this weekend. Reason I wanted to remember the playlist was that most of the time, compliments about music to me happen more from women. This afternoon, many leads showed their satisfaction for the vibe created.

2019/09/19_Abrazo Queer Tango
Challenge for the DJ in a queer milonga is that role balance is not defined by gender, not even by the shoes dancers wear. There's no glimpse to know the dancing intentions for the crowd, you have to watch people dancing to know. I like it.

2019/08/24_Allnighter @ The Beat
It was my first job for an allnighter. Glad people all liked it. According to my previous experiences, there were early dancers and late dancers came in different hours before/after midnight. I planned to play 2 sections of music for my assumption but it wasn't the case. The milonga ends after 4 am. That night, most people came early and stayed mostly after 2-3 am. I changed my plan accordingly:

2019/05/19 Alberto’s
Really appreciate the organiser of Alberto's, Dorcus, often give me feedbacks after tandas and encourage me to play some contemporary orchestras, especially when the crowd is slightly older than the crowd in SF. But dancers this night had better musicality than I expected. It was a pleasure seeing people dancing the music with their bodies.

2019/05/17 La Genesis
I'm so proud of the San Francisco tango community. There are several tandas I personally really like yet knew they are challenging. Dancers here galloped to the challenge and enjoyed them even more than very common tandas. I love you, San Francisco.

2019/05/11 La Milonga de Nora
A DJ is often a conditioner. I control the crowd and keep the line of dance clear. Nora's milonga has the biggest crowd in bay area. It took me some time to lead the dancers on line of dance. Glad i made it.

2019/03/31 El Pato Loco
It's an honor to DJ for an inaugural milonga. I was very pleased by the smiles on the dancers' and the organisers' faces in this afternoon milonga. This is probably the gig I got most compliments this year so far.

2019/01/13 Alberto’s
Alberto's has the early crowd and the late crowd. Keep the early crowd stay to mingle with the late crowd is a fun job to do.

2018/12/02 Milonga milonga
I had 5 gigs in Taipei this mouth, only wrote this playlist down because it's a new challenge. A milonga themed with 50% up milonga tandas.
